BSI Summer School 2011

Venue

Nestled into the Vale of Glamorgan on the South Wales heritage coastline, St Donat's Castle enjoys some of the most beautiful grounds and countryside in the United Kingdom.

With stunning terraced gardens leading down to the Bristol Channel, the venue is a a wonderful mixture of the historic and the new.

St Donat's Castle has 12th century Norman foundations, is primarily Tudor in character, and has a colourful recent history having been the getaway for the media magnate, William Randolph Hearst (inspiration for Citizen Kane) in the 1920s.

The castle and the surrounding grounds now house the United World College of the Atlantic, also known as Atlantic College, a prestigious international boarding school founded in 1962 as the first of twelve United World Colleges.

St Donat's Castle is 30 minutes from the Welsh capital Cardiff, only 20 minutes away from Cardiff's International Airport, and two and a half hours by car or train from London.
