Immunology News
Immunology News is the BSI's membership publication, published quarterly and distributed free to members, that provides a forum for the Society's activities, such as forthcoming meetings and events, as well as publishing articles of interest, including interviews, profiles, book reviews and features of relevance to the discipline of Immunology.
As part of the Society's remit as a charitable organisation we provision travel grants to support the attendance of members at various national, European and international meetings where they may present their research. This may also be extended to include travel to research postings. In return we request that they provide a meeting/research report upon their return, which is then published in Immunology News. These reports provide a convenient means for the BSI membership to be kept abreast of research activities in the various areas of immunological research, as well as an opportunity for researchers to supplement their publishing portfolios! We also periodically carry reports from various events organised by our eighteen regional groups and sixteen regional groups.
Members are also entitled to request a book to review from the selection presented in each edition of Immunology News. A significant perk of this is that they are able to keep the books once they have submitted their review. This provides a valuable service to the membership by allowing other members to make an informed decision about the purchase of publications that, may represent a significant financial investment.
We also publish details of positions vacant (both domestic and international), post-doctoral positions and PhD Studentships, as well as details of research fellowships, project grants and PhD studentship offered by other charitable organisations supporting disease research. In addition a range of products and services supplied by our Corporate Sponsors are spotlighted in each issue.
We are always keen to develop new content and features for Immunology News and, as such, are always open to suggestions and offers from the BSI membership and beyond.
