In the western world, the decline in infectious diseases has been paralleled by an increase in the prevalence of allergies and autoimmune diseases. These two events have been linked by the ‘hygiene hypothesis’ first proposed by Dr David Strachan. The April edition of CEI has been dedicated to an exploration of this hypothesis in conjunction with the Dahlem Konferenzen.

BSI Student Fellowships For 5th ENII Summer School Still Available

There are still some BSI Student Fellowships available for the 5th ENII EFIS/EJI Immunology Summer School in Sardinia from the 9-16 May. The fellowships of £750 are available to support attendance of its members at this summer school.
